Predicting reactions from amino acid sequences in S. cerevisiae: an evolutionary computation approach

Item Type:Conference or Workshop Item
Title:Predicting reactions from amino acid sequences in S. cerevisiae: an evolutionary computation approach
Creators Name:Harrington, K.
Abstract:Evolutionary computation has been used many times for protein function prediction. In this paper a new approach is taken by constraining the problem to predicting the products of enzyme catalysis. Genetic programming with the Push programming language is used to evolve predictors within multiple search spaces. Predictors are evolved within multiple search spaces to reduce the complexity of solutions and represent sequence analysis, protein domain recognition, protein folding, and informatic approaches.
